Driving Equality are a professional driving school with socially conscious aims. Their specialised driving tuition also supports local communities through direct charitable work. Their aim is to empower individuals through exceptional instruction and create equal driving opportunities for all.
PROJECT BREAKDOWN
Driving Equality were a newly established charity when they approached me about their creative projects. They were in need of fully realising their brand strategy and developing a brand identity from the ground up which presented us both with a perfect opportunity to fulfil their ambition of finding a way to break the mould in regards to how typical driving schools are perceived.

CREATIVE INSIGHT
Considering Driving Equality's main business differentiator is the fact they're primarily a charity, it was decided early on that their strategy needed to draw heavily on transparency and their background of care. Their identity undoubtedly needed to be welcoming, supportive and accessible to match the brand intentions. We needed to ensure that their visuals embodied the charity's goals and felt reassuring and caring, while also being applicable and recognisable to a wider audience as trusted expert driving tuition. This formed the basis of our logo direction, which was quickly approved. We focused on combining a heart, a handshake and a steering wheel to represent each of the three main pillars of the business: Charity, Support and Driving. The rest of the brand identity then drew inspiration from this before being wrapped up into a comprehensive package that perfectly represented the brand. We then used this set the tone and mood for the other assets to which were to follow immediately, including a fully illustrated, full responsive custom website and additional marketing materials.
THE RESULT
